PLN is national power company in Indonesia.
The main purpose of this project is development of gateway using PowerScene, which gathering data from PLN substation and throwing to master station (WinCC Master) using IEC 60870-5-104.
This project is executed by one of customer, PT.INES company, have cool reference site at Indorama for load shedding.
The protocol for the substation facilities (power meter, relay, RTU) is mixed as DNP 3.0, Modbus and IEC 60870-5-101, and there are 29 facilities.
Because the protocol of facilities are complex and serial communication based system, so PLN want to convert to IEC 60870-5-104 as standard.
For references, IEC 60870-5-104 protocol is widely used for electric facilities and as standard protocol of Europe, East south Asia, China and India except north America.

The PowerScene communication driver communicate with devices and using powerful PowerScene Exchange function, all gathered data are converted to IEC 60870-5-104 and transferred to WinCC at real time base.
This project was successfully completed using the PowerScene’s diverse electric monitoring protocol stack.
